Chief Agronomist meets Botswana’s Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Dr Edwin G Dikoloti

Crosscorn Pty Ltd’s COO & Scipion Capital’s Chief Agronomist, Cobus Campher, welcomed Botswana’s newly appointed Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Hon. Dr Edwin G Dikoloti, to meet with the team at Crosscorn’s HQ and farms in Gaborone last week. A packed-out press conference heard how Crosscorn is enabling the cultivation of hybrid seeds locally which represents a step change in fulfilling the country’s agricultural potential. Calls were made for the creation of a seed reserve for Botswana. This would complement the existing grain reserve and thereby add further stability to the nation’s food security. Sales Director, Tebogo Motingwa, highlighted the key role that local production of seeds plays in stimulating the economy, including the ability to provide urban and rural employment opportunities as a direct result of the production, manufacturing and distribution of Crosscorn’s seeds.
